All the hardest, coldest people you meet,
were once as soft as water.
And that’s the tragedy of living.

comparing the ‘yes scotland’ and ‘better together’ likes of my fb pals is interesting…on the whole, one’s mostly fully politically articulate (if a little fiery) creatives and social or medical care workers, the other mostly people from school (i went to a private school in edinburgh)….though it’s not the reason why i’ll be voting yes, it makes me feel in good company. These are the people that embody so much of why Scotland has ALWAYS punched above it’s weight -the reason why we have so much to be proud given the tiny population. those that can see change, progression and true democracy as the rational and exciting way for this amazing country.

and using the argument that Yes voters are sentimental, nationalistic england haters is really just making yourself look ignorant and behind-the-times…get a better argument yo! get engaged with the issues!

and of course i don’t have the balls to post this thought on facebook.

The reality is that fat people are often supported in hating their bodies, in starving themselves, in engaging in unsafe exercise, and in seeking out weight loss by any means necessary. A thin person who does these things is considered mentally ill. A fat person who does these things is redeemed by them. This is why our culture has no concept of a fat person who also has an eating disorder. If you’re fat, it’s not an eating disorder — it’s a lifestyle change.
